GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) has numerous benefits that are hugely beneficial in the manufacture of GRP Enclosures.
The primary benefits would be its Lifespan, GRP Enclosures remain operational for well over 25 years, they don’t need any painting or staining, a little light lubricating Oil on the hinges and lock will ensure trouble free service for years to come.
Another such advantage would be the flexibility in Design
GRP Panels can be produced in specified sizes. We often encounter instances whereas a GRP Enclosure is required at roof top level, the Service Lift is very often too small so we resolve the issue by Manufacturing the Wall/Roof Panels to suit the service lift. We then offer a Service whereas an Adept GRP Site Crew will attend Site and erect the Enclosure in the requested location.
Adept GRP Enclosures (also referred to as GRP Kiosks) are Non Conductive and are finished internally with a Fire Retardant Resin.
They are manufactured with the end use in mind, the position of the Doors and any other features dictated by the Customer prior to the commencement of manufacture. Further details are available at https://adeptgrp.co.uk/grp-enclosures/bespoke-grp-enclosures/
We also produce a range of GRP Electrical Enclosures, these come in set sizes but with 16 options on size you’re almost sure to find something close to what you want. A GRP Enclosure or GRP Kiosk is a man made product which can be designed and manufactured using Composite Materials, the benefits of using GRP are numerous, it’s durability and longevity are well documented and allows for a low maintenance product which will provide uninterrupted service for decades.
Common uses for GRP Enclosures
GRP Enclosures are commonly used to house Electrical Equipment, this may be sensitive Switchgear, an Industrial Transformer or similar, the fact that the GRP Enclosure can be designed to suit site specific needs and then delivered in one piece so it’s ready for use instantly makes it a very viable option. Such conditions minimise downtime on site and allow for the smooth transition needed to get situations up and running quickly.

Industrial GRP Enclosure manufacturer Adept GRP has recently been awarded accreditation from Safecontractor for its commitment to achieving excellence in Health and Safety.
Safecontractor is a leading third party accreditation scheme, which recognises very high standards in Health and Safety management amongst UK contractors.
Adept GRP is principally involved in the Manufacture of GRP Electrical Enclosures and GRP Kiosks most recent Clients have included major players such as DNO Western Power Distribution and Proctor & Gamble amongst others.
Safecontractor accreditation will enhance the company’s ability to attract new contracts and its commitment to safety will be viewed positively by its insurers when the company liability policy is up for renewal.
Safecontractor is applicable to most sectors although it is particularly relevant to food manufacture, property, facilities management, retail and leisure sectors, all of which are big users of contracted services.
John Kinge, technical director of Safecontractor said, “Major organisations simply cannot afford to run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health and safety policies in place.”
“More companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management in the way that Adept GRP Ltd has done. The firm’s high standard has set an example which hopefully will be followed by other companies within the sector.
Safecontractor plays a vital role in supporting our clients in meeting their compliance needs, whilst working with their contractors as they progress through the accreditation process.”
Under the Safecontractor scheme, businesses undergo a vetting process which examines Health and Safety procedures and their track record for safe practice. Those companies meeting the high standard are included on a database, which is accessible to registered users only via a website.
Client-organisations who sign up to the scheme can access the database, enabling them to vet potential contractors before they even set foot on site. These clients agree that, as users of the scheme, they will engage only those who have received accreditation.
Over 210 major, nation-wide businesses, from several key sectors, have signed up to use the scheme when selecting contractors for services such as building, cleaning, maintenance, refurbishment or electrical and mechanical work.
When you’re looking for Industrial Housings of any sort of size to provide storage or security on your site then the range and choice is large. There are many questions to consider including style, size and use. But one other area to consider is materials. Everything from lightweight plastics to harder materials are available but many now choose GRP or Glass Reinforced Plastic. GRP offers a strong, robust and yet flexible material. It’s a unique thing to work with, providing both the strength of harder materials and yet the capacity to be molded and shaped like a plastic.
These unique properties mean many GRP Products are available from external fixtures and fittings for houses and buildings to water tanks. But GRP really comes into it’s own with Housings. Whatever your need you’ll find strong and secure Housings, easy to transport and place. If the Housing is to be in an exposed area then GRP will provide robust weather proofing. When storing materials then you can feel confident they’ll be kept water-tight and safe.
GRP Housings provide a fantastic and flexible storage alternative and one that is making good sense for many businesses all over the world.
parking attendants and yard workers hate long and cold wintery spells.
Car parks are full to the brim with more people commuting to work to avoid the cold snap which is keeping attendants busy monitoring who comes and who goes but where do the attendants go for a quick break or a rest during the quieter periods? The answer is nowhere in the majority of private open plan car parks where space is optimised for parking and not buildings.
GRP Kiosks are the realistic alternative to staying out in the cold. GRP stands for glass reinforced polymer which is affordable and durable and as seen as the alternative to steel structures.
GRP Products are easily maintainable and they can also be customised or built to bespoke specifications to suit any buyer. One of these kiosks would be the perfect solution for parking attendants or yard workers who need a place to rest. By not being a permanent structure GRP kiosks can also be relocated to other locations if needed.
There are many specifications that can be added to your kiosk including thermal insulation, fire resistance, electrical installation and air conditioning so they really are an ideal solution to many building problems.
Because of the durability, waterproof and anti corrosion qualities of GRP it is a material used by many industries for the manufacturing of GRP feeder pillars.
The flexibility of GRP also enables the customer to specify exactly what he requires and GRP feeder pillars can be manufactured specifically to the customer’s satisfaction.
GRP feeder pillars are the perfect solution for many roadside appliances that need complete protection. GRP feeder pillars can be manufactured to accommodate low voltage electricity when the feeder pillars are treated with a special resin which makes them self-extinguishing and fire resistant.
GRP feeder pillars are manufactured with many different features all specified by the customers requirements. One of the most common features for the GRP feeder pillars are the lockable doors which are fitted as standard unless the customer requires a different option or extra security. There are variations on these doors like a cylinder night latch or a stainless steel hasp and staple.
Because GRP feeder pillars are consistently used to house electrical wires that continue underground they can have an open base so that the wires can be connected through an integral flange.
Then there are GRP feeder pillars that need permanent flooring and so the feeder pillar would then be fixed to a concrete base with an internal reinforced fixing flange. Wall mounted feeder pillars are also required for some customers and these are manufactured again to the specific requirements of the customer.
There are many other features that can be supplied with GRP feeder pillars it is just up to the customer’s individual requirements for this versatile product.
